What Causes Swelling In The Groin Area And Burning Urination In Men?

A week ago Wheni woke up it burned when I went pee. Just the last half inch f my penis stings and only during and right after i pee. Today I noticed my inguinal glands are swollen. The opening and just below it are slightly red. I don t urinate more frequently. I m 30, and have had unprotected sex in the last two weeks. I ve never had a UTI. There is no discharge, or smell. It feels like I got soap in my pee hole. Thnx for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is likely that an infection is present but testing would be needed to determine if it is a sexually transmitted infection or due to bacteria causing urinary tract infection. A sexually transmitted infection can be present without a discharge.

You should consider seeing your doctor for an assessment. Assessment would involve physical examination and urine tests. Antibiotics would be given but the antibiotic used would depend on the type of infection present.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
