What Causes Swelling In The Feet And Ankles After Injury?

I was hit by a car on Thursday - went to hospital to get X-rays and had to get a few stitches on my leg. I am currently taking antibiotics, probiotics, muscle relaxers, and antiinflammatory pills... Yesterday and today I noticed that both of my feet/ankles are VERY swollen and feel like they're "asleep"... Do you know if this is a big problem? Is it normal? Or do you have any suggestions?

Hello,

The swelling in your leg can be due to hematoma. It will get resolved within few days with the help of medicines you mentioned. You can also apply some ice over swollen area. If it doesn't reduce in size or if there is pus discharge, consult your doctor for drainage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prashant Gohil
