What Causes Swelling In The Feet And Ankle?

My feet and ankle are swollen. Legs have been hurting. I m on blood pressure medication diltiazem and amlodipine. My blood pressure was high quite suddenly but after 2 months it seems to be staying below 140. I am wondering if the medication is causing this? Should I stop taking it?

Hello Dear. Amlodipine causes leg and ankle swelling in some people. If it is mild and not affecting your daily routine you can continue without any problem. Keep leg elevated during sleeping at night. If the swelling in more and bothersome you need to consult your doctor who will stop the drug and put you on alternate drug like cilacar or aten.
