What Causes Swelling In The Collarbone And Under The Chin?
my daughter is 15 and is having major discomfort in her neck. left side collarbone seems swollen and her glands under her chin are a bit larger than normal. skin seems to be easily discolored to pink or red when barely touched for a short period it stays this color longer.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of swelling in the collarbone and under the chin which seems to be due to infection and inflammation of lymph nodes in that area. Another possible reason it could be due to strep throat as well at times. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses on the affected area as it will soothe your symptoms. Take soft and cool food stuffs. Take Aleve for pain removal. Take plenty of fluids to maintain hydration. IF symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and go for strep test as well. Start treatment after thorough examination and start with proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
