General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The swelling in the ankles can be due to many causes. Problems with venous insufficiency and the ulcers you are having are a possible cause. Also, due to scleroderma, it is important for you to check your kidney function such as creatinine and electrolytes to make sure your kidneys function well.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
