In February I had a condition which seemed to start from my nostril and spread to my face and cheeks. To reduce the swelling I tried to siphon off the discharge from my nostril but it ended up in what they called cellulitis. This was treated with three weeks of intravenous antibiotics which seemed to reduce the swelling but I still felt some pressure. Lately, the condition seems to be recurring and it began to spread again, beginning with the nostril and visiting the old spots. There is a cotton like nonstop discharge from my right nostril. I am 86 years old. My doctor says he is not concerned. He tells me that I have shingles and not cellulitis and he declined to examine my nose which is crusting over and very painful. Have you had many cases like this. I continue to try to keep it under control and have actually put some of the discharge in a jar of water.
