What Causes Swelling In Legs Post Third Degree Burns?
My son in law, 34 is in a burn unit here in Phx, and found out he has Type II diabetes. His level jumped to 211 today and they are giving him insulin to try and lower it. He has 3rd degree burns on front of left leg and ankle. This morning his foot is swollen and he can walk. Could this be due a lack of circulation to that area because of the diabetes?

The swelling is likely related to inflammatory response to the burns.
Part of the body's inflammatory response is swelling. This occurs as a result of any infection or trauma.
Secondary infection of the burns would also need to be considered.
If infection is present then antibiotics would be needed.
