Hello, I have been on Verapamil ER for about 8 months, for Arrhythmia . A month ago my dose had been doubled. Shortly after taking the new prescribed amount, (that same night of taking the new dose) my legs started to swell. I had contacted my cardiologist immediately to let her know, she suggested (over the phone) compression socks and to elevate my feet for 2 weeks, and call back after 2 weeks if there is no improvement. I now suffer from excruciating ankle pain and cannot walk. I haven't done anything to injure my ankles in any way. The pain came on gradually in my right ankle, and now my left ankle is experiencing the same. I had called my cardiologist back immediately when the ankle pain first started, and she said it is unrelated to the medication, and to see my Primary physician. She hasn't even wanted to see me at all throughout all of this. Any information would be extremely helpful, I am in so much pain and have two young children to tend to.
