What Causes Swelling In Hand After Removing IV Drip?

I had an IV drip 9am today for a colonoscopy, and just noticed before the nurse took IV out, my hand was swollen. The IV was in my hand just above my ring finger (left hand). I ve kept my hand elevated, but its still wanting to swell and it s 8pm now, what should I do to relieve the swelling?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, this is happening due to counter puncture of vein which causes the escape of IV fluid out of it cause the huge swelling in most of the cases it comes around soon, still care need to be taken for infection, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
