What Causes Swelling In Feet In A Diabetic?

I am a 74 year old diabetic patient. My feet swell. In my research I discovered that my liver is not producing albumin. Is there a way that I may replace the missing albumin through diet?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, considering your age, with history of diabetic, suggest more of renal pathology.
Pedal edema(leg swelling) though caused by many reasons, in diabetics renal comes first.
i would suggest
1) To undergo liver function test, renal function test, urine routine.
2) To verify your reports with your physician, and get treatment accordingly would help you a lot.
3) Always keep good control of your diabetes.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
