What Causes Swelling And Tingling Sensation In The Lips?

Hi! My lips swelling every 2week. It comes and go. One week top lips corner is swelling frist tingling sensation and nums and get swelling. It lest about day and go away and following 2week its happen agin to lower lips. I tracking what I m eating, maybe it s from food allergy but I don t have any food allergy. And I also smoke cigarettes and that never happen before so please help me to get answer! Thank you so much!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling and tingling sensation in the lips which could be due to many reasons associated with numbness and tingling sensation like initial stage of bell's palsy, atherosclerosis , multiple sclerosis , diabetes and vitamin deficient. I would suggest you to start low dose steroid immediately. Consult doctor for perfect diagnosis and to find out exact cause. Doctor may perform physical examination and take history in special reference to nervous system. For now give gentle massage to your lips with olive oil or almond oil and take half spoon of cinnamon powder in glass of water to improve blood flow. You should go for complete blood tests , CT scan Or MRI of brain and get it treated accordingly. Lip injury can also cause such symptoms , so consult oral surgeon also .
