Hello. I thought I was getting a cold sore, as I felt some tingling on my lips and there was the sensation of something being stuck on a section of my bottom lip, but it s now the next day and my lips are just swollen and red. It feels as though i ve burnt them a little. They feel tight and I can feel that the skin is dry or thicker but it doesn t look that way. In addition, my eyes feel quite irritated, like I have a foreign body in there. It s all very odd! Any advice you might have would be very appreciated...
Hello, You seem to have an allergic type of reaction. This can include seasonal allergies or exposure to an irritant such as a chemical, food or cosmetic product. Try to take some Benadryl or other allergy relief medication. Try to determine the cause to avoid exposure. Seek medical care if worsens or immediate care if breathing difficulties develop. Viral reactions can cause similar symptoms especially as you initially described. Caught early, there are viral medications that can shorten the viral episode. Plan a visit to your doctor to confirm a diagnosis or if symptoms persist. Thank you for your inquiry. I hope that you feel better soon.
