Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. You are mostly having thrombophlebitis at injection site. Chemotherapy drugs are highly irritating in nature. You said, chemotherapy drug leaked through the port. This is the reason for thrombophlebitis. These drugs, when extravasate in skin , can cause local inflammatory reaction. So patient feels extreme pain, redness, swelling and hot on touching the site. So better to change the port for next chemotherapy. Apply thrombophob ointment and anti inflammatory drugs for symptomatic relief.
