I am a 33year old woman in good health until i went to the waterpark.. My area by my pinky toe and toe next to it has a white lesion that started just from mild irritation 2 days ago.started with a athletes foot creme on it hoping it would help but it seemed to make it angry.niw tge whole area is red and swollen so much that i cant wiggle those toes anymore.my skin is very tight and feels like it wants to split open.i have no insurance so i was thinking of sanitizing a needle and poking it to release the pressure...any thoughts

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to fungal infection. For such case i would recommend using ointments containing miconazole or terbinafine for local application. I also advise fluconazole tab to take orally weekly once for 1 month. Washing the area with warm saline will give soothing effect.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
