What Causes Swelling And Redness In The Eyes?

My 20 yo son is an elite tennis player in college and trading daily. He awoke yesterday with swollen eyes and redness. He also weighed in after thanksgiving week and lost 4.5 pounds. He feels fine, slept well and has good appetite. No other constitutional symptoms.
