What Causes Swelling And Pain In Uvula Along With Sore Throat?

Thursday night went to bed with a slight sore throat. By morning could hardly swallow. Uvula was Huge and sore. Then yellow developed on both sides with a white tip on the end. Got a red streak down the center. Swelling has gone down, but yellow sides continue. The entire skin covering it actually came off after some grey showed up on one side. Left exposed tissue but yellow sides remain along with redness. Roof of my mouth is getting quite yellow and . Have fluid in my ears as well. What's going on ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Acute onset of sore throat is usually due to an infection either viral or bacterial.

The severity of the infection that you are describing may indicate that your infection is bacterial though this would need to be confirmed by your doctor.
The use of antibiotics would help to clear it up.

Sore throat would often be associated with other cough and cold symptoms including symptoms related to the ear.

I hope this helps
