What Causes Swelling And Pain In Stabbed Thumb?

I stabbed my thumb with a clean needle at work before giving a toradol shot my thumb barley bleed but immediatly my thumb became swollen and brusied then become very cold it has been 24 hours and still is swollen painful bruised and very cold, should I be worried?

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Your symptoms are caused due to haematoma. Except wound treatment you should have applied cold procedures(ice) to your thumb.
If your thumb is swollen, hot and painful for more than 3 days then you should take antibiotic for the infection and sometimes microsurgery procedures are necessary.
