What Causes Swelling And Pain In My Husbands Toe?

My husband and I stayed at a hotel last night. It was upscale, so I don t think it would be dirty, but in the middle of the night his toe swelled up so badly that it looks broken. He did nothing to break the toe, and on further review it seems to be topical, not internal. It hurts him to the touch, even if you blow on it hard it hurts him. Is it possible it could be a bedbug bite?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to a bedbugs bite. I suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application. I also suggest using Cetirizine 10 mg daily to help with the swelling and inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
