What Causes Swelling And Itching On The Face And Chest?

I have used oxygen via cannula for 6 years. Moo in the past 4 weeks I seem to have developed an allergy to the plastic cannula. My face and chest are red warm swollen and itch. I am using Benadryl and a anti itch cream. I would like to know what you think. I have tried several different cannulas and washed them to no avail. Help. Susan Adams YYYY@YYYY

Because of variability in residual resins in different brands and batches of plastics, and because of varying individual sensitivity, therapists and others should be alert to the possibility of allergic contact dermatitis from respiratory therapy devices.

Please check for if it's contact dermatitis and consult a dermatologist.
