What Causes Swelling And Itchiness In The Penis?

For the past few months the foreskin of my penis cannot be retracted. I have consulted a medical expert and he prescribe some ointments which contain mometasone furoate and some other composition. Its heavily swollen inside and its itchy sometimes. The doctor said it might be a case of phimosis and may require surgery. Can you confirm the exact illness and its effect. I can have intercourse normally but I am worried it might lead to penile cancer or something worse. What should I do??

Hi,

You need urgent urologist and dermatologist review as well as get it checked for any signs of STD infection. Phimosis is a possibility but extent of infection needs to be established and ultrasound or MRI of the area may be needed. Meanwhile momatsone may be continued. If other work up is unremarkable, biopsy from affected area may be needed.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
