2.5 year old female - knee and joint swelling, redness, hot to touch; random bumps that look like insect bites but no insects in the area; one is not a bump but a more bright red spot; no lip or facial swelling, no difficulty breathing and no wheezing; just came off amoxicillin two days ago - was being treated for sinus infection with runny nose, etc.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

She should be examined by a pediatrician. I suspect that she is having Lyme disease. The insect bite you see may be is a tick bite. The treatment is with Doxocycline for 14 days.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
