What Causes Swelling And Hardness On The Abdomen Post A Choleocystectomy?

How do I know if I hand internal bleeding after laparoscopic surgery to remove my gall bladder? It seems like my left side is swelling & harder than the rest of my stomach. I have no incisions on my left side. Could that be signs of internal bleeding?

Hello,

It is normal to have swelling after surgical procedure. To detect if you have internal bleeding you can make two blood test and compare the levels of erythrocyte, hemoglobin and hematocrit. If in the first are normal and in the second blood test they have considerable differences you should suspect for internal bleeding. Also make an abdominal ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
