What Causes Swelling Along With Bruising And Pain In Ankle?

I hurt my ankle somehow, don t know what I did but it is swollen, bruised and hurts. I have had several x-rays, they say nothing is broken it is probably a sprain. I don t think so. This happened in January and the swelling is still there and so is the pain.

hello
i read your question and understand you concern
i would like to ask
* your age is?

* any h/o other joint involvement?
* fever along with this pain and joint swelling?
i would suggest one you to go for blood tests like s.uric acid
and also go to check with Rheumatologist and why not one CT/MRI should be taken
and take anti inflammatory orally and topically, analgesics as well and take rest and consult your doctor for this issue in detail
i hope my answer will satisfy you
