What Causes Sudden Weight Gain Despite Being On A Healthy Diet?
Hi. I want to ask a question regarding unexplained weight gain but I know that I have no means to pay fir your services. I gain about 8 to 12 lbs of wTer in a week if I am notvregular on my water pills of 40 mg in am and 20 mg pm. It is so much water that it hurts my joints. I am not obese and have always maintained an average 140 weight.
Changes in amount of water retained can cause sudden weight changes that have little to do with diet or obesity. Water is heavy, about 1 pound per pint, so even retaining a relatively small amount of water can cause significant weight changes on a daily basis. Too much salt in your diet can cause greater water retention as well. You obviously need the water pills to prevent that water retention and weight gain, and you are on a strong dose. There are many reasons why people retain water. I presume your doctor looked for a cause prior to prescribing you water pills. Hope this answers your question.
