What Causes Sudden Spike In Body Temperature When Diagnosed With Pneumonia?

My husband has Pneumonia. He has been on antibiotics for two weeks including 3 days in the hospital on an IV. Every after noon this temperature spikes to over 102. Today it spiked to 102.7. What is the reason it spikes In the afternoon. The rest of the day it is high normal.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the febrile condition then it may be due to the infection (Pneumonitis ) which might not be given sensitive antibiotic if it is the resistance to given antibiotic then fever is alike, second it could be antibiotic induce fever, if it is the antibiotic induced fever then it is nothing to worry and it will be okay soon, hope this information helps.
