What Causes Sudden Sharp Pain In The Rectal Area?

Today I was removing my tampon and I had bowel movement. After it ended I felt the sharpest pain in the rectum area and it lasted for about 20/30 seconds. It was very sudden and it completely froze me. I usually have some sharp and sudden aches like this in the same area; even when i m not menstruating, but they usually only last a second or two. What could it be? Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to anal fissure.

I would recommend to soak in warm water.

I also recommend avoiding constipation.

I recommend to take daily probiotics and take fiber supplements.

I recommend to drink liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
