What Causes Sudden Pain In The Abdomen While Suffering From UTI?

Monday suddenly I got a bad pain in my stomach. I thought I might possibly be constipated.
Finally went to urgent care and was told I had a UTI. Got antibiotics pain med and anti nausea. Med.
Feel somewhat better but still have a dull pain and a bit queasy.

1. As you mentioned pain in lower abdomen thus the noticeable effect of UTI [bladder pressure] is Interstitial cystitis [IC], [and one of the symptoms is the pelvic pain] so it will be a good idea to follow up with your attending doctor/Urologist, regarding detailed medical history, pelvic examination, and necessary investigation. [cystoscopy, biopsy, urine cytology], if needed, till then

- drink plenty of water/fluids to dilute your urine and flush out bacteria
- avoid alcohol, caffeine, citrus juices, soft drinks, which can irritate the bladder and aggravate urgent need to urinate.
- apply a warm [not hot] heating pad on your abdomen to minimize bladder discomfort. [only after tenderness is excluded]
