General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thanks for posting your question on HCM!
I really appreciate your concern towards the joint pains you have.
Following data is incomplete: Age, gender and duration of your symptoms and other problems if any.
Since your mother is suffering from mild Rheumatoid arthritis, you have to undergo some lab tests like Rh factor, ESR, CRP, AntiCCP ( if possible) to rule out Rh arthritis.
In Rheumatoid arthritis, usually the patient experiences, pain and morning stiffness lasting for more than one hr, associated with less physical activities, raised Rh factor, ESR, CRP. Anti CCP although most expensive test is done to confirm the diagnosis.

You are advised to consult a doctor for proper evaluation and treatment.
Best regards!
