What Causes Sudden Numbness On The Roof Of The Mouth?

i have had sudden numbness that came out of nowhere, kind of at the roof of my mouth, but it s actually the roof of my mouth just above my two front teeth and nowhere else (not the entire roof). Earlier before that I was bitten by something on my left arm while out to lunch, coincidentally, maybe not related. I have no pain and it wasn t a gradual thing over days, it just came all of a sudden, since around 2:00 pm. today and it s now 8:12 and still numb.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sudden numbness on roof of the mouth which seems to be due to injury to nerve, nerve impingement and it could be due to presence of infection in root tips of anterior tooth region.

I would suggest you to :-

- Do warm saline rinses several times a day.

- Take antiseptic mouthwash.

- Maintain complete oral hygiene.

Visit dentist once and get complete examination done and go for periapical x-ray of anterior teeth region done and go for root canal treatment as well. Take proper course of antibiotics to subside infection.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
