What Causes Sudden Nose Bleed Frequently, sore Throat And Stomach Pain?

My son (age 4 1/2) has had several sudden nose bleeds in the last couple of days (4-5x/day). We ve used saline to add moisture to his nasal passages. Today he s complaining of a sore throat, stomach ache and has a fever of 102 (F). He is otherwise healthy.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Repeated nose bleeds may be due to upper respiratory tract infection like rhinitis or sinusitis or nasal dryness, etcetera.

He may also be suffering from viral fever. Use Paracetamol according to the body weight. Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for 5 days. Continue normal saline nasal spray.

If symptoms do not improve, please consult your ENT specialist who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
