Hello and welcome to HCM,
Sudden hearing of high frequency sounds on the background of normal hearing is suggestive of an inner ear lesion and can be due to presbycusis.
Presbycusis is an age related hearing loss and is correctable to an extent depending on the severity.
I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist for hearing tests, audiogram and detailed examination of inner ear.
These investigations will determine the type of hearing loss, the site of lesion and its most appropriate management.

Thanks and take care
