What Causes Sudden Elevation In The Body Temperature In An Elderly Person?

My dad is 96yrs old and is usually cold. Uses electric blanket at nite but he just ask my brother to turn off the electric blanket and remove cover on top of electric blanket because he was hot. Hi,

No not like that. It may be because of excessive heat due to electric blanket or it may be an infection owing to his less immunity because of old age. Don't use blanket and take axillary temp for two days every 6 hours. If it's more than 98.9, in day or 99.9 in night. Its fever. Show a GP for infection and start antibiotics.
