What Causes Sudden Dizziness & Nausea?

Yesterday I was up all day feeling fine.. Around 4 pm all of a sudden I was so dizzy and vomiting.. Everytime I rolled over I felt so sick.. When trying to walk I would about run into the wall.. Upon waking up this afternoon I am still dizzy.. Not as bad as yesterday though.. I have done nothing but sleep since yesterday not wanting to get up or move my head around.. Any suggestions? Should I get up and try walking this off.. I have never felt like this before.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Vertigo is the sensation of a person or environment spinning.

The most common causes are: (1) BPPV - in this case the vertigo is brought on by certain head positions
(2)meniere's disease- associated with hearing loss and tinnitus
(3)vestibular neuronitis

It is possible that your symptoms are BPPV. This is treated mainly by the doctor performing the Epley or semmont maneuver

You should consider visiting your doctor for an assessment.

I hope this helps
