What Causes Sudden Dizziness, Fatigue And Seizure?

Hello! On Sunday, I was taking a shower at around eleven in the morning. During the shower, I began to feel extremely dizzy. I proceeded to get out of the shower but after I did so, my vision began to blackout and I fell to the floor. Immediately after, my head flew back and hit the door and my legs began seizing almost as if I were having a seizure. This whole episode lasted about 15-20 seconds. Since then, two days later, I still feel extremely weak and fatigued. Is this normal?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. What you experienced is surely not normal. However, people who experience seizure do not remember the details as clearly as you have remembered. It could be electrolyte imbalance, brain disorder or nerve/blood vessel problem.

Even if it is not seizure, this episode sure needs attention of an neurologist. You may need to go for blood tests, x-ray of the skull, CT scan and/or MRI. Based on the test results, it can be decided whether this was probably just one time thing and should be ignored or treatment is needed to prevent future episodes and other complications.

I hope this nformation helps you. Thanks for choosing HCM. Take care.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
