What Causes Sudden Dizziness And Severe Headache?

I recently reported to my office by 8.00am with severe headache. I started feeling dizzy by 3pm, and by 6.30pm, I lost mental balance (sanity) and couldn t recall what happened for the next four hours. But I was told I acted violently for much of the period. I gradually regained consciousness between 10 & 11pm of same day. By which time all symptoms ceased. What could have caused all these.

Hi,

Severe headaches are not known to result in violent behavior and especially for such a prolonged period (4 hrs.). Nor can seizures or epilepsy result in such erratic changes for such a prolonged period of time.

Psychiatric syndromes, especially those where behavior dyscontrol or failure to control anger or aggression are features would be the most likely diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi,
