What Causes Sudden Depreciation In Lung Capacity Of A COPD Patient?

I have been diagnosed with copd for 10 years and am accustom to the changes over the years but since last Nov. my breathing has suddenly gotten worse. I went to the Grand Canyon in Nov. and since returning I was diagnosed with altitude sickness and spent a week in the hospital. My breathing has gone downhill . I saw my Dr. and was put on oxygen therapy. what do you suggest ? James Cornelius

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your symptoms of breathlessness following a diagnostic of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease followed by altitude sickness I am suggesting that that your lung tissue is obstructed by mucus or fibrosed structures leading to difficulty with breathing
In this regard please follow up with your physician as the treatment you are receiving are in order
I hope this helps
