What Causes Sudden Body Chill And Shaking?

Hi, last night my husband (42 and in good health) woke up in the middle of the night shivering intensely and was freezing. He said his stomach was ok, but he had a headache yesterday afternoon and through the evening. We turned up the heat and after layering a lot of blankets on he managed to warm up but he was shaking very intensely and it was very unusual. Any ideas as to what caused this? This morning he feels lethargic and sore.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The reasons for such shivering might be the malaria fever, urinary tract infection, or pharyngitis.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have blood and urine tests, for diagnosis.
Malaria repeats every 24, or 48 hours.and every time starts with the shivering.
Other fevers will have the shivering all the time except when fever tablets are taken.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
