What Causes Subconscious Tourettes/ Weird Words That Is Popping In Head?

Hello :) I am a PharmD and for the past 6 years (in the middle of an EXTREMELY stressful time in my life) I have been dealing with, what I can only explain as subconscious Tourettes - weird words, usually quite rude, pop into my head at random times and repeatedly and can be quite distracting to me. Is there any precedent for this scenario?

Hi,

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to anxiety or to obsessive-compulsive disorder. I recommend consulting with a psychiatrist to help make the precise diagnosis and choose the better treatment options. Starting an antidepressant would be helpful.

Hope you will find this answer helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Best wishes,
Dr. Aida
