What Causes Strong Vaginal Odour?

I have had a strong odor coming from my vagina for awhile now. I mentioned it to my primary care doctor and since I have no symptoms of infection she advised me to see a gynecologist. which I have made arrangements to do . My question is what can cause vaginal odor other than an infection?

Hello,

Bacterial vaginosis — an overgrowth of normally occurring vaginal bacteria — is the most common vaginal infection that causes a vaginal odor.

Second reason could be Trichomoniasis — a sexually transmitted infection — also can lead to vaginal odor.

Third is Chlamydia and forth gonorrhea infections usually don't cause vaginal odors.

Therefore I suggest consulting a gynecologist for physical examination, diagnosis and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
