What Causes Strong Pulsating Noise In Ear, Dizziness And Discomfort In Back?

I can hear my heartbeat in my ear, mostly on the left, but sometimes inside my head. My ears pop, I sometimes feel dizzy. I have heat in my back and stabbing sensations in various parts of my body. Any ideas? If I feel really scary, I go to the ER and they will rule my heart and send me home. I m at a lost.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have strong pulsating noise in ear, dizziness and discomfort in back . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tinnitus, eustachian tube dysfunction , pulsative tinnitus , cervical problem or any psychological problem . But in your case it seems to me that symptoms are due to pulsative tinnitus or cervical problem . Pulsative tinnitus occur due to either overall increase in blood pressure or local increase in blood pressure do to blood vessel dysfunction Because pulsating tinnitus is usually caused by variation in blood pressure or blood flow.Mind relaxing exercises like meditation and yoga will be very helpful, also apply warm compresses on back .I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order certain test like audiometery , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax build-up , middle ear infection and vitals . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , sedatives and supplement like ginkgo biloba. Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for cervical problem .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
