What Causes Stoppage In Bowel Movements?

my mom has had G.I. symptoms for 3 weeks now. her history includes gall baldder removal, scar tissue removal from a hysterectomy, triple CBG, and fatty cirrhosis. after 10 days of vomiting and dirrhea dizziness and vertigo added to the mix and she was admitted to the hosp. after CT w/contrast they decided she either had a partial bowel onbstruction or gastroenteritis. after antibiotics, colonoscopy, endoscopy and barium swallow she is no longer vomiting and diarrhea, but now has not had a bowel movement for 6 days and still has cramping, dizziness and nausea and occasional vertigo. we have been home from the hosp for 3 days because they want to avoid exploratory surg if possible. what have we missed? a recent PET was negative
