What Causes Stomach Pain After Eating Supper?

My husband had been having trouble with belching for years but in the last 2 weeks has been having stomach pain after eating supper. Now he is having black stools since Wed. We went to the Dr. onFri and he is having a ultra sound tomarrow. I am worried that it is cancer because he had colon cancer in 2014 but we were just to the cancer Dr. last week and his blood work was good. They don t do a pet scan for that kind of cancer. I want to get him in as fast as possible and get this resolved. Do you have any advice on getting this escalated quickly?

Hello,

The very first thing is to determine the right diagnosis. Black stool could be related to foods he consumed days before. Or if he was constipated and had hard stool, that might be the cause to having black stool.

To confirm should run occult blood stool test plus colonoscopy.

I think you should wait until getting an ultrasound tomorrow and ask for these other tests and further consultation with a gastroenterologist.
