What Causes Stomach, Legs, Arms, Face And Back Tingling Sensations After Injections?

I went to the doctor at around noon today, I was diagnosed with strep throat. They gave me a shot of penicillin in one hip and a steroid in the other. Around 3 I started having this tingling sensation. It started out just in my stomach, then arms. Now at 8:30 pm my legs, face and back are also tingling. I called the ER that I went to this morning and they said since the symptoms didn t start until several hours after the shots, it doesn t sound like a side effect of the drugs. I have had strep throat a few times in the past and have never had this reaction.

Hello

The tingling sensation is likely to be due to an allergy , either to the drug or the preservative and i would advice you to tell this to your doctor before taking another shot. Sometimes the allergic reaction can be delayed.you dont have to rush to the ER, but just be careful next time.

Take care
