Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Stomach Issues, Vomiting And Dehydration In A Child?
I have 4 kids (4,4,3,1) all who seem to have a type of stomach bug. They all have taken turns vomiting and having the runs. Every day one has had the symptoms and the next another one will. They all seem hydrated, they will take a nap then go about their day running around. I just want to know what to do so it ll stop passing and if it s something I should be concerned about?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Since your all children are having similar symptoms, diarrhoea, vomiting and dehydration simultaneously, possibility of food born infection is more. So better to take them to pediatrician and get done clinical examination. All will need antibiotics, oral rehydration solution (ORS), zinc and probiotic tablets. Give them plenty of fluids orally and keep themselves hydrated. Avoid junk food. Avoid outside stale food. Don't worry, all will be alright. Consult pediatrician and discuss all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your children. Thanks.
