What Causes Stomach Bloating And Loose Bloody Stools?

My husband got overheated outside and was light headed. He came inside and got cooled off. He had not drank much outside. He got cooled off and drank water. Started feeling better. Two hours later he had dinner. Intestines got real gassy and he had a running and bloody dark stool. Was this caused by the over heating?

Was that fresh blood or was mixed with stool.
Its an alarming sign if it wasnt fresh blood.
Fresh blood with stools is caused by Anal fissures and hemorrhoids which are benign conditions. But if he really had dark black stools its a bit of concern. Give me more information or go to a local Hospital emergency deptt. They will further evaluate symptoms based on routine labs.
