What Causes Stinging Feeling At The Site Of Injection?

I received an allergy injection 3 days ago and the injection site feels as if it has been superglued. This is a new and unfamiliar sensation for this seasoned patient. I am a 41 year old, 157 pound, 5'9" female in excellent health aside from the allergies.
