Dear Doctor, I am a 33 year male of Asian origin. I had a primary rhinoplasty surgery exactly 1 year and 10 months ago from a board certified doctor. Before the surgery, I had a medium-sized nose with little raised bone on the bridge and slightly bulbous tip. My nose was not crooked or deformed in any way, and the skin of my nose was just a little thicker than the average (in my opinion) especially from the bridge downwards. My expectations from this surgery were to straighten my nose, to slightly decrease the overall size and to have more projected/refined tip. It was an open rhinoplasty. After the surgery, I experienced a lot of swelling, my nose looked very bulbous , felt very stiff and underwent changeswc in shape almost every week. This process lasted for about 1 year and 4 months or so. After that, the swelling has gradually gone down. However, After 1 year and 10 months, I am only about 40 % satisfied with my nose. The reasons for my dissatisfaction are that there is something rather tough near the bridge and it is raised but does not feel as hard as bone making my nose look slightly crooked. Secondly, there is still stiffness in my nose starting near the bridge all the way down to the tip. Thirdly, my nose looks different on both sides and definitely bends more towards one(left) side like a curve when I run my finger down my nose like in an act of message. Moreover, I don’t see any appreciable reduction in the size of my nose. The only tangible change is slight slimness of the nose and of the tip which also keeps changing from day to day even until now. I am really depressed because of this situation!! I want to seek your valuable opinion as to what might be happening in my case and what future course of action you would recommend for me. Many thanks and best regards. Ab Jam.
