What Causes Stiffness Of My Thumb Post Injury?

Hello I recently cut the inner aspect of my thumb below the MCP joint with scissors accidentally. It seemed fairly deep, but stopped bleeding with pressure so I did not seek medical attention. This happened 3 days ago. Today, the cut seems to be healing, i have lots of bruising at the base of the thumb, but i am able to move finger and its not too painful. My concern is that the upper joint i am unable to bend. I will look at it, bend my other thumb, but can not move the upper joint despite efforts. Do you think I need to seek help? or is it possible that my thumb is just weak d/ t injury? Its not swollen. Thanks
