What Causes Stiffness In Legs Immediately After Waking Up?

I am a female 50 years old in good health and take no medications. However, I have noticed for about a year now that when I wake up in the morning, my feet are very stiff and it is hard to walk on them at first. They loosen up in a few minutes, but it is quite pronounced and seems to be routine now. What could that be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that there might be having some degenerative changes in your bones and muscles causing pain and stiffness, particularly during morning when muscles remain lax and goes into spasm after getting up.
There might be having some osteoporosiis giving this problem as well.
Take Calcium, vitamin A and D supplements.
Avoid sedentary life style and go for normal walking exercises daily.
Ok and take care.
