What Causes Stiffness And Numbness In Finger Post Sutures For Deep Cut?

I sliced my index finger on a glass I was washing up nearly 5 weeks ago. Had 11 stitches to close wound. Finger is still extremely sensitive around scar and numb from scar to tip. Also, finger is very tight so can t straighten it completely or bend it. Will I get feeling and full movement back? Slice starts just below middle knuckle up on top, around outside and and down to just below knuckle underneath.

Stiffness occurs due to immobilisation of finger due to stiches. You are advised to do finger physiotherapy like movinf it all direction and bending it to and fro etc....frequently in a day.....this will prevent fibrosis of underlying muscles and will help in restoration of normal movements.

I hope this will help you.
